Safety Rules
Safety is always a priority within our club and we strive to ensure everyone is playing as safely as possible. Under no circumstances are you to cross the track to retrieve your car should it become unresponsive or damaged. Do Not hold onto your car in front of you on the carpet from drivers area to prevent hand injuries from other cars. When entering track to run a car place the car down in corner at ether end of the track out of traffic.
As stated in battery rules all LIPO batteries must be charged in a approved LIPO sack or metal ammo box.
In the event of a Lipo battery fire the race will be stopped. There will be a bottle of Liquid LIPO extinguisher (dawn dish soap) located in the pits to use to extinguish the fire then it must be taken outside carefully and swiftly. Then we can determine whether an evacuation is required until fumes have dissipated.
There will also be a first aid kit located in the pits next to the Liquid LIPO extinguisher.
If you see something unsafe, please report it to officials so it can be corrected
Sandals are not to be worn by drivers, marshals, or anyone in the pit area. There is no driver stand, so keep your feet well protected from runaway cars. CLOSED TOE shoes are a MUST.
Track/Racers Etiquette
If during a race or qualifying your car is broken or unable to race or qualify anymore you need to remain on drivers stand until race/qualifier is over as to not distract other drivers by walking past,
During race or qualifier or practice your car is stopped anywhere on track call it position so other drives can slow down and avoid and marshals can get it
Communication with other drivers on the stand while racing helps to avoid accidents and keeps things flowing better.
If you are a lap or more down during a race or qualifier and a faster car comes up behind you to lap you please communicate with the other driver when you can safely go wide to let them pass. Holding up faster cars is inconsiderate and can often cause an accident.
Do not intentionally hit anyone else’s race car.
If you accidently spin someone out you should stop safely out of the way until they have regained position. If it is a lapped car and it happened by accident, then it is up to the driver however if communication and proper etiquette is being used this should rarely ever happen.
Mercy minute for drivers: For a main race only! If before a race a drivers car needs to be repaired up to 5 min will be allowed for driver to get car repaired by themselves or a pit crew. After 5 min the race will start no Exceptions.
Race director has final say on any incidents that are not being resolved and suspension for the race or permanent ban is up to his decision.
Do not walk on the carpet with wet or dirty footwear.
Most importantly this track area is donated to CORR from the legion so be respectful of the space and other people in the facility.
Leave your pit space and other areas like washrooms in the same condition or cleaner than you found them. Put your garbage in the garbage can located in pit area.
Please remember that the club is run by volunteers that often use all of there spare time so you can enjoy racing model RC cars. Don’t give them any reason to quite what there doing for the club. Volunteers are always welcome and often needed.
